Make Instance
What is Force Make Instances?
Force mode lets you manually convert selected objects into instances of the active object, even if they do not pass the similarity check.
Does this only work on exact duplicates?
No. It can detect geometrically similar meshes using tolerance settings, so objects do not always need to be perfect duplicates.
Is this useful for imported models?
Yes. It is especially useful for cleaning up imported scenes that contain many repeated but unlinked mesh objects.
Can I use the active object’s materials?
Yes. You can choose to use the active object’s materials when making instances.
Can I keep the target objects’ modifiers?
Yes. There is an option to keep target modifiers.
Will objects move when they become instances?
The addon is designed to preserve object placement and bounding box dimensions.
Can it search the whole scene?
Yes. You can limit the search to the current selection, a collection, or the entire scene.
