Fair enough. Blender universe is a very complex and cluttered collection. There are thousands of relations between data points that move with each edit in the scene. I can imagine that with increasing size of a Blender file this add-on may become an overhead eating into the processor's time. We understand this and hence we added a global option to enable/ disable version control. If it is a simple composition, we are good to go. If it is a heavy composition, the best use of this add-on is to enable it before some breaking changes and disable it afterwards. It is probably still the best alternative until we see a native support from Blender for object level versioning. I am glad that you shared an honest feedback!
