MHD-Int Outer Solar System — Dwarf Planets, Kuiper Belt, Halley and the Oort Cloud

Solaris Core — MHD-INT in Science

Pick a date and see where Pluto, Eris, Sedna and their neighbours really are.

What's included

  • Jupiter to Neptune plus Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, Eris, Gonggong, Quaoar, Sedna and comet 1P/Halley, each at its real position for the chosen date (JPL orbital elements).
  • Perihelion, aphelion, period and inclination of every body, stored in the object properties.
  • A Kuiper belt and scattered disc drawn from the real structure (3:2 and 2:1 resonances, cold and hot populations).
  • A schematic Oort cloud (2,000–100,000 AU), clearly labelled as theoretical.
  • Halley with a tail that grows toward the Sun (set the date to 1986-02-09 for its perihelion).
  • 19 cameras: overview, inner system, Kuiper belt, top view, Sedna's whole orbit, the Oort cloud and one per body.
  • Studio or physical lighting, adaptive scale, labels, optional 50-year animation.
  • A ready-to-render .blend (Cycles) with the script embedded, plus the script itself so you can change any setting and rebuild.
  • README with what is real and what is not, CREDITS with all references.

What is illustrative (we say it up front)

  • The Kuiper-belt rocks are random draws from the real structure, NOT real objects. The Oort cloud has never been observed and is a schematic.
  • Surfaces are procedural and illustrative; rotation of the dwarf planets is not animated; moons and rings are not included.
  • Orbits are two-body Kepler orbits from JPL osculating elements; Halley's real orbit is perturbed by the planets, so its date can be off by months.
  • The JPL record gives a diameter only for Ceres and Halley; the other sizes are published values that you should verify if you quote them.

Who it is for: science communicators, teachers, planetarium and YouTube creators, and anyone who wants to show how far the Solar System really extends.
