Abyss Explorer 500 is my first 500-meter-depth research submersible, designed for game development, film and animation, and real-time rendering.
Based on futuristic industrial design and realistic mechanical structures, the Abyss Explorer 500 achieves a balance between model detail, real-time performance, and interactive configurability.
The submersible features a complete cockpit and interior facilities. The main body paint color, secondary color, exterior decals, lighting, displays, and other material elements can be quickly customized.
A dedicated interior-view model collection is included. When rendering from the interior, unnecessary models that cannot be seen from inside the submersible can be hidden to reduce performance overhead.
All propulsion systems, doors, rudders, robotic arms, and other functional components use a non-physics rigging system, allowing you to quickly create vehicle animations without complicated setups.
CORE FEATURES
1. Complete Rigging System (Blender)
- Built using the Blender 4.5.1 armature system
- Different controllers can be used to control the opening and closing of the doors and the robotic arm
- Different pose controllers can independently control the propellers and rudders in different functional areas, as well as diving, ascending, and propulsion effects
2. Highly Customizable Material System (No Node Editing Required)
All core components support quick external parameter adjustments:
- Exterior primary paint color
- Exterior secondary paint color
- Interior seat color
- Emissive color and brightness
- Decal content and color
- Display on/off, brightness, and content customization
No need to enter the Shader Editor. Simply adjust the parameters in the Material Properties panel to complete the customization.
Suitable for commercial projects that require quick skin changes and adaptation to different styles, including industrial and science-fiction styles.
3. Game Ready and Performance Optimized
- Uses normal map details to optimize polygon count
- Suitable for:
- Unreal Engine
- Unity
- Real-time rendering projects
Balances visual quality and runtime performance.
4. Modular Design (Foundation for Series Expansion)
The model uses a modular structural design:
- Hull module
- Seat module
- Interior control module
- Robotic arm module
