Version 2.4 represents a great leap forwards for PBR Mixer with a whole host of new features and improvements like;

  • Material Settings to setup your material just as it needs to be for faster viewport and render performance avoiding extraneous material functions.
  • Image Data features and an Image Resizer to improve performance by avoiding unnecessarily large or heavy textures.
  • UV/Object/World texture coordinate options with UV Transform and UV Breakup features to eliminate repetition in tiling textures.
  • Soft Blending feature for control over how layers mix.
  • Color Transform features for Albedo and Emission textures.
  • New procedural Height maps like multi-mode procedural noise, procedural bricks, and procedural hexagonal tiles.
  • UV/Object/World Coordinates and Noisy coordinates for procedural Height maps.
  • Improved baking features including automatic creation of a new PBR Layer using your baked textures and auto-insertion into your material.
  • And much, much more!

I've worked hard to bring you the best experience possible while using PBR Mixer and I really hope you'll enjoy creating with it in Blender. If you have any questions, suggestions, or requests please contact me through Superhive and I'll do everything I can to accommodate.

Many thanks for supporting me and my work and happy PBR Mixing!

PBR Mixer 2.3 sees a complete overhaul of features like;

  • a fresh new UI,
  • improved performance and new features for the height masks,
  • faster and easier texture baking with automatic saving, packing, and creation of PBR Layer nodes,
  • integrated editors for texture keywords and texture resource website links,
  • and much more.

Please remove any older versions of PBR Mixer from your Blender installation before installing this one and be sure to use the 2.3 .blend file along with version 2.3 of the PBR Mixer Manager addon.

This version introduces new features to the procedural Bricks heightmap including random width and height as well as the tilt feature, and a new Noise feature for more organic shapes and rough edges for the bricks.

The upgrade to version 2.1 brings with it a new procedural bricks height mask for creating walls and pavements, the ability to copy PBR textures from other materials in the current .blend file, and one-click assigning of PBR tags to non-PBR image textures in the .blend file.

The first release of PBR Mixer marking the rebrand from the original PBR Layers.
