    Useful tool with notable limitations

Let me start with the positives: the plugin is easy to pick up, the author responds quickly, and the collection-based saving system for generated stones is a nice touch. With the right settings, you can get decent results.

That said, for $10 I expected more. A few things that held me back:

Stone shapes are almost exclusively rectangular — organic, rounded forms simply aren't achievable. The plugin only works with rectangular meshes: applying it to a cylinder will just turn it into a rectangle. There's no modifier support. If you need a flat pattern without height variation, good luck — stones will still sit at different levels even with displacement set to 1. And after applying, you need to double-click to confirm — a small thing, but a friction point.

The end result is a tool that requires significant manual cleanup, which takes away much of the value you'd expect from a "procedural generator."

For comparison: I picked up OCD (One Click Damage) for $2, liked what I saw, and grabbed the full version for $20. That one lives up to the "one click" promise — apply and forget. This one, unfortunately, doesn't quite get there.

I'd love to see the author add support for arbitrary mesh shapes and rounded stone forms in future updates — the foundation is there, and it could be a genuinely strong tool with some work.

Thank you so much for your detailed and balanced feedback. One thing to clarify here: as it is rightly named as Stone "Wall" Generator, it certainly expects input objects to be rectangular to create a wall based on that object. If not, it will assume the bounding box of the given object as its domain and transform it into stone wall. If you need to convert an object of any random shape into stone you need a different add-on that works on custom shapes (we developed it as well but it's not available publicly). Other than that, we are willing to look into what clean-up work you had to do, we can improve on that if we get the details. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] with the result you got and the clean-up you did afterwards. We can try to incorporate that in the add-on if it's useful. Thanks once again for the valuable feedback!
