Can I resell or redistribute the add-on?
No. You may not resell, reupload, redistribute, or share the RecorderFlare add-on files unless the license specifically allows it.
Can I use videos rendered with RecorderFlare commercially?
Yes, you can usually use your rendered videos commercially, depending on the license you purchased through Superhive. Please check the selected license terms.
Why is my MIDI keyboard not detected?
Reconnect your MIDI device, refresh MIDI devices in the add-on, restart Blender, and make sure any required live MIDI packages such as python-rtmidi are installed.
Why is MIDI import not working?
MIDI import may require the mido Python package. Install mido into Blender’s Python environment, restart Blender, and try importing the MIDI file again.
Are the recorder fingerings completely accurate?
RecorderFlare uses a simplified fingering map for visual animation. It is designed mainly for cinematic visuals, not professional music theory or exact recorder training.
Which render engine should I use?
Eevee / Eevee Next is recommended for fast glowing visualizer renders. Cycles can also be used, but Eevee is usually better for bloom-style effects.
Which Blender version is supported?
Blender 3.6 or newer is recommended. Blender 4.x and newer should work where tested, depending on your installed version of RecorderFlare.
Does it work with Novation Launchkey?
RecorderFlare is designed for MIDI controller workflows such as Novation Launchkey, depending on your installed version and live MIDI setup. Live MIDI may require mido and python-rtmidi.
Can I import MIDI files?
Yes. RecorderFlare is designed to support MIDI file import. MIDI import may require the mido Python package to be installed in Blender’s Python environment.
Can I use RecorderFlare without a MIDI file?
Yes. RecorderFlare includes test note animation so you can preview the visualizer without importing a MIDI file.
Does RecorderFlare generate audio?
No. RecorderFlare creates the visual animation only. You need to add your music or audio separately in Blender or in video editing software.
