Render+

Diego Gangl in Rendering

This one Includes several fixes. The two most important changes are about loading external blendfiles and logs.

Render+ now loads data from blendfiles by spinning an instance of Blender in the background and then writing and reading the information in a text file. This is a bit slower than directly loading the blendfiles as we did before, but has the benefit of supporting compressed blendfiles and being more future proof. Changes in the blendfile format will no longer break support in Render+.

Logs received a lot of attention since I’ve been noticing they were a bit short on info. Render logs now include a list of enabled addons, app handlers, OS and blender versions, the entire custom python code generated, custom overrides and even more.

Finally, Render+ now properly removes frame numbers in filenames for still images. This has been a headache for a very long time, but looks like I finally put together the right combination of settings + custom code to rename the file. Frame numbers are still added for animations of course. There is also now a checkbox to enable/disable frame numbers in case you want them, and a slider to change the number of digits to use for frame numbers.
