Seamwick UV 0.2.0

Generate a starting UV layout for selected meshes from one sidebar panel. Choose Hard Surface or Organic, run Auto UV, and inspect seams before final cleanup.

What it does

- Hard Surface uses seam rules based on face angle, marked sharp edges, and material borders.

- Organic uses a simple back-cut heuristic with Blender unwrap/projection fallback.

- Selected meshes are packed together into one 0–1 UV atlas.

- Relative UV scale is matched using mesh area and object transforms.

- Preview Seams enters Edit Mode with seam edges selected for inspection.

Compatibility

This download is offered for macOS Apple Silicon only. The exact Extensions ZIP passed historical manifest validation, isolated installation/enablement, Hard Surface and Organic operation, original-UV preservation, and unregister/re-register checks in Blender 4.5.14 and 5.2.2. Minimum version in the manifest: 4.5.14. No maximum version is declared; this does not establish testing on all later releases. Other Blender versions, Windows, Linux, and Intel macOS are not offered as verified configurations for this archive.

The gallery reuses actual Blender 5.1.2 screenshots of the legacy 0.2.0 package on original/default test meshes. The extension has the same functional source, with legacy metadata replaced by an extension manifest. These screenshots do not claim a new graphical test of this Extensions ZIP.

Included

Seamwick_UV_0.2.0_Extension.zip: six Python source modules, extension manifest, installation and usage README, complete GNU GPL v3 text, and dependency notices. License: GPL-3.0-or-later. Copyright (C) 2026 yulei. The pictured test meshes are demonstrations and are not included in the download.

Limits

UV layouts are starting points and can require manual seam, stretch, spacing, or map-selection cleanup. This is not a fixed pixels-per-unit tool. Existing seams remain; rerunning rewrites the dedicated Seamwick UV map and preserves other UV maps. Preview Seams changes Edit Mode and component selection. Island margin is approximate. Relative scale uses original mesh data and object transforms, not unapplied modifier output. Linked or multi-user mesh data is rejected. No UDIM, baking, export, telemetry, cloud account, or license server is included.

Support
