  Before I begin my review, you need to understand why this add-on is really great for me. Back in Jan 2019 I had a major stroke. I lost all my freelance clients and can no longer work. I have neuropathy in my hands so I look for add-ons that will drastically cut back on my hand/mouse use. I currently can only use a drawing tablet to replace my mouse. So, now I only do Blender as a hobby. Anyways (to shorten the story).

  I made an addon called "Quick Tasks" back before my stroke, doing it all by code. However, after the stroke (pain in hands) I could not do a lot of typing in reasonable time. So, I went looking for an addon that I could make "Quick Tasks" over again, but it was simpler to use.

  I found PME, and that worked okay at the start, but had its quirks and limitations. But, I decide to find something else as the dev stopped working on it and it hasn't been updated for several years now. In come Serpens!!!

  It is a node based system to develop addons. It took me a while to get use to node-based converting from code. Things work a little differently. But, once I got used to the things I wanted to do, I re-developed my "Quick Tasks" addon. This addon save me multitudes of clicking in the Blender interface. I was about to bring function in Blender that was 3-4 clicks deep to 1 or 2 clicks.

  The only issues I found with Serpens is the constant crashing of Blender and not being able to use UNDO a lot. I guess its a Blender/memory thing and Serpens can't do anything about it.

  Anyways, I really like Serpens and would recommend it to anybody, even if its just to make your tasks easier.

  2 year Blender user haven't had this much fun on the program in a while. With the help of available recourses and active Discord I published my first addon after about 2 months with no programming experience. To say this addon is impressive feels like an understatement.

  Easily one of the best Blender add-ons out there. I'll be learning it fluently over the next year or so and using it daily I'm sure. Visual scripting is so much easier than programming by hand. Really looking forward to creating some add-ons using it. The documentation is good as well, but what really helps is the excellent (updated) YouTube tutorials that help you learn how to use it. The fact that I could go on YouTube and find up-to-date "intro to" videos (that were just released a couple of months ago) that fully explain everything makes the add-on worth every penny. Couldn't recommend this one any higher and I'm really looking forward to using it! Thanks for all your hard work on it.
