Great addon. It helps me a lot to see what the node actually looks like to get a feel for how it works. Also, ShaderError was great at helping when I was stuck at the start and got me sorted. So 5 stars all round.

    I love it :)

Extremely helpful, and it really speeds up my work, make it easy to see which nodes I need to tweak. Very powerful, and I have no complaints. It does exactly what it says!

Visual feedback at every step in the node graph is awesome!!! This addon is a must-have if you are working with procedural shaders. Being able to see what's happening at every step makes a huge difference, especially with vector math, and I've started experimenting a lot more. Worth every penny, and the v2.0 update takes it even further. 10/10!

I like it, I expect the authot will continue to improve a lot but its still quiet useful to see the middle-products in the shader!

Not really an exceptional review, but a very good quality plugin which makes the creation of materials/shaders more enjoyable. Everything works perfectly.

It looks like it could be helpful but I got errors and uninstalled. Weeks later I was trying to figure out where my storage was going on the boot drive. There was a 500gb cache file it left behind. Documentation stated some features take up a lot of space.

      Hi Jason,

Regarding the bg_log.txt log file: in earlier versions of the addon, logging could grow excessively large over time, which is likely what you're seeing. This issue has been fixed in the latest version. Could you please confirm if you're using the most recent version of the addon? If not, updating should prevent this from happening again.

Tried it with Blender verions 5.0 and 5.2 and tried shaderviews versions 2.0 to 2.3 and none of them worked. All they did was take up .8 gb of vram and never loaded even after waiting 10 minutes. Tried messing with the settings but nothing in this works at all. No side bar. No buttons. Feels like I was scammed with a broken product. I've purchased many products on superhive but this is the first to be this bad. If its another add-on that is in the way then It would have been nice to have a warning about it. Sad this doesnt work and Funds are so tight so took a chance with this.

Hi Brandon, I’m really sorry that ShaderView isn’t working for you. I completely understand how frustrating that can be. This is actually the first report I’ve received of add-on behaving this way, so it sounds like there may be something specific to your Blender/OS setup causing it.

Could you please try a couple of things?
      1) Try to install ShaderView on a completely fresh Blender setup, with no other add-ons enabled. Sometimes another add-on can interfere.
      2) Check whether your OS settings allow Blender to create and save files. ShaderView needs to create temporary files and store the generated preview images while Blender is running. These files are cleaned up after the session, but if OS is prevented from it previews will not be able to display.

If neither of those helps, could you enable the Debug Log in ShaderView, restart Blender, and send me the generated log files? That should give me enough information to see what is failing on your particular setup and hopefully get this working for you.

The plugin does not work in my usecase. Once you start mixing images and getting vector mapping involved it completely stops working.
I had high hopes as if it worked as i had expected it would have been a great asset to my workflow.

However when it does work It is extremely useful, Fun and i hope that the issues i have get fixed soon. But until then i consider this pluggin unusable for my workflow.

      Hi Danika,
Thanks a lot for sharing your feedback — and I’m really sorry the add-on isn’t working well in your setup.

You actually wrote to me about this before, and I checked the exact case you described, but the strange part is that on my side the same setup works correctly. Because of that, it’s taking a bit longer to fully understand and debug — it seems to be a very specific edge case that doesn’t reproduce easily.

I’m working on a big update right now. The whole system is being reworked, and I’m pretty sure this issue will disappear with the new version.
