Can I update the models?
Yes, the node generator has an editoral license, meaning you can take it apart and edit it however you want. the "node parts" collection should include all of the node models for you to tweak, just be careful when you're editing the edges, since all of the models edges are made identical, to fit onto each other seamlessly.
Will this work in the lower versions of Blender?

I've made the entire thing in 5.2 and opened it in 5.0 without any problems, but the node setup doesn't use any advanced new nodes, so in theory it should work fine in the lower versions - just be sure to open it with a 4.5 LTS version before downgrading to a 4.0 series
