  I tested it on several different meshes, and after playing with the settings for a bit I got a much better feel for the workflow and which settings work best for which type of geometry. Once that clicked, it became a genuinely useful tool.

  Overall a good experience so far. I also sent the developer a couple of feature requests and he was open to them.

  Hey I really like this addon, but I have a question, I bought version 2 less than a month ago (ish), for the version 3 I have to buy it again? I can't find the download button for the new version :/

  Poor support and regressions in v3 — better manual workflows exist

  I am leaving 3 stars because of the lack of technical support and the disappointing results in the latest version.

  Initially, the developer demonstrated how texture reprojection worked, but when I ran into quality issues with the remesh, support stopped responding—citing vacations and leaving questions unanswered for days. I upgraded hoping Version 3 would solve the issues, but in my experience, v3 performs noticeably worse than previous builds (like 2.0.9), especially on organic/AI meshes.

  In the end, I had to solve the texture degradation and seam issues on my own using standard Blender techniques (Shrinkwrap + Data Transfer before baking with proper ray distance and bleed margins). Pairing those steps with an alternative remesher (like Quad Remesher) produced far cleaner and more accurate topology than Smart Remesh currently delivers.

  This tool might work for simple hard-surface models, but for organic/AI assets, the regressions in v3 and the absent post-sale support make it frustrating.

  Tried 4 different rather simple meshes, hard surface workflow deleted more than needed even on detailed preset, which caused the mesh to break or not look as intended. With 2 meshes the organic remesh ended up having more faces, from 15k to 20k and from 8 to 12. Not recomended, can get better results with built in decimate or free addons.

  Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to test the add-on.

  As I mentioned in the tutorial video, you have full control over the mesh settings and the available tools, so you can adjust the mesh density and optimization level depending on the type and complexity of your model.

  The presets are intended as starting points, and the settings can be adjusted manually to achieve a better result for each specific mesh.

  I’d also be happy if you could send me screenshots of the models you tested via direct message. That way, I can take a closer look at them and guide you toward the best settings for achieving better results.
