What does this addon do?

Snapshot 6 Tools is a Blender addon that automates the creation of clean, consistent snapshot renders and preview images from your own 3D objects.

It is designed to generate orthographic views and Fake 3D turntable sequences for asset previews, marketplaces, catalogs, and game development workflows.

Does this addon create 3D models?

No. This addon does not generate models, scenes, cameras, or lights. It only automates the rendering and image processing pipeline using your existing objects and scene setup.

How does the rendering process work?

When you run Snapshot 6 Views or Generate Fake 3D, the addon:

• Processes all selected MESH objects
• Calculates the real geometric bounds of each object
• Temporarily repositions the object so its geometry is centered
• Creates orthographic cameras automatically
• Renders the object from multiple directions or angles
• Restores the object to its original transform
• Repeats the process for each selected object

All transformations are temporary. Your scene is not permanently modified.

How should I set up my scene?

• Only MESH objects are processed
• You must set up your own lighting
• Materials should be ready before rendering
• Objects can be placed anywhere in the scene
• The addon handles centering automatically during rendering

Does the addon depend on object origin?

No. The addon does not rely on the object origin. Framing is based on the actual geometry bounding box, not the origin position.

This allows correct results even when origins are offset, intentionally misplaced, or not aligned with the geometry.

Does the addon create or modify lights?

No. All lighting is fully controlled by the user. The addon does not create, modify, or fix lights or materials.

What does the addon generate?

• 6 orthographic views (front, back, left, right, top, bottom)
• Fake 3D turntable image sequences
• Multiple output resolutions
• Optional background color
• Optional outline
• Optional corner labels
• Automatically organized output folders

Does this addon change my scene?

No permanent changes are made. All object transformations are restored after rendering.

Yes. All generated images can be used freely in commercial or personal projects.
