Solar Panel Generator – Procedural PV Arrays, Mounts & Axis Trackers

Henrik Uhrmann in Procedural Generators

From a plane to a wired solar plant
DESCRIPTION

From a single rooftop to a full solar farm – built in seconds, fully procedural.

Create beautiful solar installations with just a few sliders. This Geometry Nodes generator builds everything you need: panels, mounting structures, sun-following pole trackers, a combiner box and all the cabling. Clean UVs, a lightweight trim texture and smart instancing keep even large solar parks fast and ready to render.

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Hi, I'm Henrik!

By day, I work as a 3D artist for an industrial manufacturer, turning real machinery into product visuals and assembly animations. That everyday experience goes into every asset I make: realistic proportions, clean topology, and tools that make work faster instead of more complicated. I hope this generator saves you as much time as it saves me.

FEATURES

Everything for a solar plant

Flexible arrays
Shape rows, columns, spacing and orientation with live sliders; position and tilt come straight from your plane, every face is one table.
Smart mounting structure
The substructure adapts automatically as your array grows: posts, rafters, braces and bolts, down to the ground or a terrain.
Single-axis pole tracker
Two simple values let your panels follow the sun: pick a sun light or animate one angle.
Wired automatically
A combiner box and the cabling: MC4 jumpers under the panels, string cables tied along rails and posts into the box.
Trim texture and clean UVs
Crisp detail without heavy texture maps, and easy to customize. Or switch to fully procedural materials.
Made for big scenes
Thanks to instancing, hundreds of panels stay smooth in the viewport.

BUILT LIKE THE REAL THING

Every part where it belongs

Datasheet-sized modules with half-cut cells, frames, junction boxes and mounting holes. Strut channel rails through the holes, cold-formed C posts, rafters and braces lapped and bolted, the combiner box on its own rammed post, MC4 jumpers under the frames and string cables tied along rails and posts.

MATERIAL MODE

Procedural or one trim sheet

Every modifier has a Material Mode. Procedural gives one material per part, with the cells drawn by a shader. Trim Sheet maps panels, rails, steel, box and cables onto one 4K texture and one material.

ONE PLANE

Everything starts with a plane

Panels, rails, posts and braces all grow from one plane: move, scale or tilt it and everything follows. The combiner box and the cables are two more empty objects that point at the plane with an eyedropper.

Thanks for checking it out! If you have questions or ideas for new features, just send me a message, updates are always included. And if the generator helps your project, I'd be really happy about a quick rating ;)

QUICK START

Ready in four steps

01
Plane
Solar Array on a plane (every face is one table), pick your Solar Panel with the eyedropper.
02
Mount
Solar Mount below it: Ground Mount (posts to the ground, a terrain or a box bottom) or Pole Tracker.
03
Combiner Box
Place it at the field end, door towards the field; pick the Array, it counts the strings.
04
Solar Cables
Pick the Array and the Box: strings, MC4 jumpers and string cables into every gland.
