Can I change the keyboard shortcuts?
Yes, the shortcuts can be remapped in Blender's keymap preferences like any other addon.
How is this different from Blender's built-in Local View?
Local View is a single on/off toggle. Solo is stackable. You can push into nested isolation levels and step back out one at a time, without ever losing your place. It also works at the vertex level in Edit mode, shows hidden objects as wireframe ghosts, and can auto-frame your selection.
