Plaster ornament for old-town buildings – one Geometry Nodes modifier.
Tidebone Stucco & Moulding builds the stucco of a Central European building: cornices, panel frames, arched opening surrounds and ceiling rosettes. Ten moulding profiles are swept along the path with exact mitres; ornament rows, corner blocks, a keystone and a rosette centre complete the pieces.
Features
- Four elements in one modifier: Cornice (straight run, 45° Mitre Out / Mitre In at both ends), Panel Frame (mitred corners by construction, optional corner blocks or rosette corners), Opening Surround (straight legs plus half-ellipse arch, optional keystone), Ceiling Rosette (profile ring, inner ring, petals, boss)
- Ten profiles: Crown, Cyma Recta, Cyma Reversa, Ovolo, Cavetto, Half Round, Architrave, Baseboard, Chair Rail, Fascia Band; Profile Size, Projection and Flip Profile are inputs
- Four ornament rows: Dentil, Egg & Dart, Bead & Reel, Patera Row; size, spacing, depth and position along the profile are inputs
- Clean meshes: every tested case is a closed mesh with a UV map and outward normals, hard edges kept (edge-angle shading), up to three materials (plaster, ornament plaster, gilding) as inputs
- Sizes from a picture rail to a crown cornice: Profile Size tested from 2 cm to 90 cm, lengths tested up to 20 m
- Procedural materials, no image textures; asset-browser ready; demo scene (arcaded wall); README with input and polycount tables
- No add-ons, no Python, no image textures. Tested headless on Blender 4.2 LTS, 4.5 LTS and 5.2 LTS: 191 parameter cases each, 0 errors, 0 node warnings, identical vertex, face and triangle counts
What it is not (so you know before you buy): straight cornice runs only (no curved cornices, no automatic corner joins: two runs are placed by hand as in the gallery); the arch is a half-ellipse (no segmental or pointed arches); ornament rows sit at one place on the profile and are not cut at the mitres; no columns, no acanthus or figure ornaments, no wear or damage setting; Cycles only checked (not EEVEE).
Included: tidebone_stucco_moulding.blend (the generator, helper groups, 3 materials), asset catalog, demo scene (an arcaded wall), README, license (Personal 1 seat / Studio up to 10).
How it was made (AI disclosure: AI-assisted): the node groups were built by Python build scripts written with an AI coding assistant; the shipped file contains only standard Geometry Nodes and shader nodes. The gallery images are Cycles renders of the shipped file, not AI-generated images.
