Super Bump for Eevee brings the power of material displacement to the real-time engine!
Tightly packed alpha-clipped layers add real depth to reinforce Normal and Bump map effects without the need for the super-dense geometry associated with displacement, and real shadows created by the engine's lighting system complete the effect.
The Super Bump Manager sets it all up for you with a single click!
Super Bump can give you the same results you'd get from Cycles material displacement or a Displace Modifier but with a hundred vertices instead of tens of thousands and brings material displacement to Eevee in Blender version prior to 4.
Automatic creation of PBR materials
As part of adding Super Bump to your object, the Manager creates a PBR material from the textures you select.
The Manager identifies the type of PBR textures used by checking their names for certain Keywords, for example:
- Albedo
- Metallic
- Roughness
- Emission
- Height
- Normal
You can edit or expand upon these keywords by clicking Edit Keywords in the addon's preferences panel.
Please note:
- Super Bump is not for use with Cycles as the transparent layers will require high light bounce settings and render times will be very long.
- For best results, enable Contact Shadows for lights in the scene.
- When running on a MAC Pro, transparency processing in Blender is very slow and as a result of this, Super Bump is not recommended for MAC Pro users.
