TrickBoom: Explosion & Sound

Paulo Antunes in Materials and Shading

Room explosion
Fracture. Explode. Re-fracture on impact.
A chunk hits the ground and breaks again. You did not set that up. No rigid body, no cache to bake. Plain keyframes on plain objects, sound included.
Re-fracture on landing
Breaks again where it lands
Each shard decides at the bounce. Up to six generations deep, smaller every time, and it tapers off on its own.
Explosion mode
Choose from 3 modes
Explosion
The mesh fractures and the shards launch from frame one. Add a blast point wherever you want the blast to start.
Collision mode
Collision
The object breaks on contact with a static or animated collider. A ball through a wall leaves a hole where it went.
Fall mode before and after
Fall
The object drops whole and shatters when it hits the floor or a collider.
Computed trajectories
Motion that reads like a blast
The crack runs before the pieces fly, walls blow out of their faces, and spin follows the flight. Every path is drawn in the viewport before you render a frame.
Bricks
Fracture that looks broken, not sliced
Ten material presets, each with its own drag, friction and break pattern.
Seeds
Three steps. One seed.
1
Set floor
Pick the plane the debris lands on. Walls go in with Set scene prop.
2
Explode!
Choose a mode and a material, press the button. Change the seed, hit Re-simulate.
3
Bake & finish
The blast stays in the file as plain animated objects.
Same seed, same result. What you approve in the viewport is what the farm renders.
Debris cratering the ground
Craters, ejecta and gravel
Every hard landing punches a crater and throws ejecta and gravel, on the frame each chunk lands.
Twelve effects
Twelve effects. It hears its own blast.
Craters, ground cracks, sparks, gravel, decals, scorch, shockwave, camera shake, flashes and god rays, all driven by one impact list. Press Bake audio and the blast gets a soundtrack timed to every hit, with no samples.
