UV Density Scout
INSTALL
Extract the buyer bundle first. Keep the inner extension ZIP zipped. In Blender 4.5, open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, choose Install from Disk from the menu, select the inner ZIP and enable UV Density Scout. Read the included QUICKSTART.md for the panel and original demo.
USE
In Object Mode select meshes, set texture dimensions and optional target density, then scan. Compare area-average pixels per metre and warnings. Export the last scan to a local CSV if needed. Rescan after mesh, texture-size or scene-unit changes.
MEASUREMENT
The checker uses the original mesh, active UV map, world transform and scene unit scale. It excludes modifier results. The supplied 1024-square texture demo should give 1024 px/m for a 1 m square and 512 px/m for a 2 m square filling the same UV tile.
LIMITS
No UV packing, resizing, overlap detection, directional stretch or UDIM resolution interpretation. Outside-0–1 UV warnings may be expected with tiled or repeated UVs. Tested only in Blender 4.5.3 LTS on macOS arm64. Other environments are unverified. Reports are local snapshots; no cloud upload occurs.
