Why doesn't Move Variant Up / Down update the open dropdown immediately?
The stored order changes immediately, but Blender's popup keeps the rows it drew when it opened. Close and reopen the dropdown to see the updated order.
Does Workspace Groups connect to the internet or collect usage data?
No. Workspace Groups does not request network permission and does not include telemetry or analytics.
Its file permission is used only for Workspace-order preservation.
What is the difference between Add Workspace and Blender's + button?
The far-right + remains Blender's standard Add Workspace control.
Workspace Groups' Add Workspace command creates a clean Workspace from the Group's stored Blender template source when that source is available.
Does Last Active persist after restarting Blender?
No. Last Active is intentionally session-only and resets when Blender restarts.
What happens when I click a Group name?
Workspace Groups returns to the last Workspace used inside that Group during the current Blender session. If there is no remembered Workspace, it safely falls back to an ordered member of the Group.
Will Workspace Groups be maintained for future Blender versions?
Workspace Groups is actively maintained. Tesselune intends to review compatibility as Blender evolves, including current releases and LTS versions where practical.
Compatibility with every future Blender release is not guaranteed until that version has been tested.
Which Blender versions are supported?
Workspace Groups 1.0.0 has been tested on Windows x64 with Blender 4.5.13 LTS, 5.0.1, 5.1.2 and 5.2.1 LTS.
The manifest requires Blender 4.5.0 or newer. Future Blender versions are not considered supported until they have been tested.
Will my .blend file still work without Workspace Groups?
Yes. Disable or uninstall Workspace Groups and your real Workspaces remain in the file. Blender's normal Workspace tabs return.
Are these virtual Workspaces?
No. Every grouped item is a normal Blender Workspace. Workspace Groups only changes how related real Workspaces are organized in the Topbar.
