AquaForge Pro is a liquid simulator for Blender. Pour wine into a glass, drop a cannonball into the sea, spin a whirlpool, run lava down a slope, and render it all in Cycles or EEVEE, with spray, foam and bubbles.
Full Tutorial -
It's everything in the free AquaForge Lite, plus:
GPU SOLVER
- The whole simulation runs on the graphics card: about 14x faster than the CPU on a gaming laptop (RTX 4050 against its 20-thread i7). A 4-million-particle dam break bakes at a quarter of a second a frame instead of almost four.
- NVIDIA, AMD and Intel graphics through OpenCL, no extra installs. Without a usable GPU it bakes on the CPU by itself.
- Every feature runs on it: viscosity (honey bakes about 13x faster), surface tension, force fields, obstacles, inflows. Same results as the CPU solver.
- Live Preview: the simulation at low resolution in the viewport, as it runs (about 18 frames a second), to check a setup before the real bake.
WHITEWATER
- Spray, foam and bubbles, baked with the liquid wherever it is fast and churning or cresting.
- Foam rides on the surface, spray flies (and follows the wind), bubbles rise.
- Separate sizes and materials for each kind; change the look without baking again.
PHYSICS
- Blender's own force fields push the liquid: Force, Vortex, Turbulence and Wind, with their shape and falloff. Move them or keyframe their strength.
- Surface tension, for drops and small-scale liquid.
- Any Fluid or Inflow can have its own viscosity, so honey and water share one bake.
- Volume correction keeps the liquid's volume over long bakes.
LIBRARIES
- 30 liquid presets, picked from rendered previews: water, pool and sea water, coffee, tea, red wine, beer, cola, orange juice, milk, honey, maple syrup, caramel, chocolate, olive oil, ketchup, cream, yogurt, red/blue/yellow paint, ink, lava, toxic waste, magic potion, slime, blood, mud, mercury and liquid gold. Each sets the viscosity and the surface material.
- 40 ready-made scenes in five groups (kitchen, splashes, water and waves, flows, special), picked from rendered previews: beer pour, chocolate over cake, cannonball, crown splash, boat wake, paddle wheel, whirlpool, wind over water, rain, waterfall, river over rocks, fountain, lava flow, slime drop and many more.
OUTPUT
- Motion blur: the surface carries the liquid's velocity, so Cycles blurs splashes the way they move.
- Vorticity and age attributes for shaders and Geometry Nodes.
- Export Alembic: the surface (with velocity) and the whitewater, every frame.
ALSO IN PRO (AND LITE)
- Fluid from any closed mesh, static and moving obstacles, keyframable inflows and outflows.
- Background baking: keep working while it bakes; pause and resume, even after a crash.
- Bake estimate: particles, memory, disk and time before you bake.
- Resolution up to 400 (Lite: 150).
REQUIREMENTS
- Blender 4.5, 5.1 or 5.2
- Windows 64-bit (macOS and Linux builds are planned)
- A multi-core CPU; for GPU baking, a graphics card with OpenCL 1.2 (any recent NVIDIA, AMD or Intel GPU) and enough video memory for the bake
GOOD TO KNOW
- Fluids, obstacles, inflows and outflows must be closed meshes; obstacles thinner than about two grid cells can let liquid through.
- Force fields accelerate the liquid for as long as they act: small strengths go a long way.
- Surface tension shows at small scale; in a bathtub-sized scene it does almost nothing.
- If AquaForge Lite is installed, disable it, so there's one AquaForge tab.
