Does it affect performance on large scenes?
AST uses debounce timers so sorting and reveal never trigger on every frame. On very large scenes you may see a brief outliner flicker when sorting runs - this is cosmetic only and does not affect your scene data.
Will the outliner reveal close my other collections?
No. Only the collection containing your active object is opened. All other collections keep their current expanded or collapsed state.
Can I disable auto-sort but keep the outliner reveal?
Yes. Both features are toggled independently in the addon preferences. You can enable or disable each one separately
Will sorting break my scene or lose any data?
No. AST only reorders collections and objects within their existing hierarchy. No objects are deleted, moved between collections, or modified in any way.
Does this work with Blender 4.x?
No. Addon is built as a native Blender 5.1 Extension and requires Blender 5.1.0 or newer. It will not install on older versions.
