Which Blender versions and node editors are supported?
Auto Router requires Blender 4.2 or newer and works in the Shader Editor and Geometry Nodes Editor. Other node-editor types are not supported.
Does sorting affect only the selected nodes?
No. Full Sort and Reroute Only operate on the entire currently edited node tree. Selection is used by the manual grouping tools. Enter a nested group first to organize that group; sorting does not recursively process all nested groups.
How do I clean wires without moving my nodes?
Choose Reroute Only. Functional-node and frame positions are preserved while connections are routed. Reroute nodes themselves may be replaced or added.
Can I undo or cancel an operation?
Yes. Use Blender Undo to revert a completed operation. Press Esc to cancel an interactive run. If applying or validating a result fails, Auto Router restores the captured tree state.
Why did Distribute Group Inputs leave a long connection?
Distribution is conservative and runs during Full Sort only. It creates limited local copies for substantial consumer regions; small regions and outliers may remain connected to the original input. Very large graphs may benefit from manually prepared local input copies and frame membership before another Full Sort pass.
Will clearing a manual group delete its nodes?
No. Clear Manual Group removes the selected manual frame and keeps its contents and absolute positions. Remove Selected moves selected members out of their manual frame without deleting them.
What does a warning about original wiring mean?
Some routes could not be solved within the available space or routing limits, so those connections kept their original wiring. Review the affected area, allow more space, or increase the relevant routing budget. An optimal or crossing-free result is not guaranteed.
Can it handle hundreds of nodes, and how long does it take?
It has been demonstrated on a real 432-node Geometry Nodes system. Large trees can take several minutes and may need manual refinement. The full final showcase includes manually prepared local Group Inputs followed by Full Sort. Routing Time Limit controls the routing budget, not the total time for the complete operation.
