Cavity FX
Q: Will this work on Mac or Linux?
A: Cavity FX is tested on Windows 11. It may work partially on Linux/Mac but hasn’t been fully validated.
Q: Can I use this without a camera?
A: You need an active camera in your scene. If not, the addon will prompt you to add one before enabling Cavity FX.
Q: Do I need to set up nodes or materials?
A: Nope. Cavity FX handles the compositor setup and chroma key background automatically. Just toggle and render — that’s it.
Q: Can I use this in animations?
A: Absolutely. You can bake cavity FX across your entire timeline.
Q: My cavity looks misaligned. What’s wrong?
A: This usually happens when the viewport camera moves out of sync. Just press HOME on your keyboard to re-center the view and refresh.
Q: Is Cavity FX using real geometry data?
A: No, Cavity FX is a screenspace effect, just like Blender’s viewport cavity shading. It captures exactly what you see from the active camera.
Q: Does this work with Cycles or Eevee?
A: Yes! Cavity FX supports both Eevee and Cycles. The baked effect is viewport-based but integrates seamlessly into your final render using Blender’s compositor.
