What should I do if I get an error?
Send me a message through SuperHive with the error text and, if possible, the Blender log. Logs make edge cases much easier to identify and fix.
Does it preserve linked materials and external data?
Yes. Since 0.1.3, linked materials, images, node groups, nested instances, modifier targets, and asset metadata stay linked when they belong outside the collection you are editing.
How is this different from Blender's Asset Browser?
The Asset Browser is great for reusable assets. Collection Teleporter is for cleaning up a live working scene: move a collection into its own .blend file, keep it linked in place, and edit it later in context. They can work together.
