Desk Axolotl - Documentation

1. Install

1. Download desk_axolotl_v1.0.0.zip. Do not unzip it.
2. In Blender: Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, click the drop-down arrow at the top right and choose Install from Disk...
3. Pick desk_axolotl_v1.0.0.zip and tick "Desk Axolotl" in the list.
4. If Auto-Save Preferences is off, click Save Preferences (bottom left).

2. Where to find it

• It swims along the edges of your main Blender window as soon as the add-on is ticked.
• Settings: 3D Viewport > Sidebar (press N) > Desk Axolotl tab, or Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Desk Axolotl (expand it)

3. How to use it

• Click it: a happy squeak and a burst of bubbles.
• About every 12 s it blows 1 to 3 bubbles (Bubbles / Bubbles Every).
• Drag it anywhere and let go: it lands on the nearest edge with a splash.
• It naps after 2 minutes alone and sleeps after midnight until you tap it.

4. Settings

• Axolotl / Mute: show it, silence it.
• Size 1 to 8: whole pixels, multiplied by Blender's UI scale.
• Volume: for squeaks, splashes, puffs and pops.
• Swim Speed: sprite pixels per second (default 14).
• Bubbles / Bubbles Every: on or off, and the average seconds between puffs (default 12).
• Float: swim a little above the edge, bobbing.
• Naps / Bedtime: and a bubble counter for this session.

5. Troubleshooting

• Check the Axolotl toggle in the Desk Axolotl tab or Window > Desk Axolotl.
• It only lives in the first (main) Blender window.
• No sound? Volume and Mute are in the settings. Sounds use Blender's own audio system: if Blender has no audio device (Edit > Preferences > System > Sound), it stays silent.
• Install error? Make sure you picked the .zip itself, not an unzipped folder, and that you are on Blender 5.2 or newer.

6. Updating

• Download the new zip from your Superhive library, uninstall the old version in Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, restart Blender, then install the new zip.

7. Uninstall

• Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, expand Desk Axolotl and choose Uninstall. It never writes anything into your .blend files.
