Everclay: Non-Destructive Sculpt Layers for Blender Multires
Does it work on macOS and Linux?
It should, but it has only been built and tested on Windows so far. On macOS and Linux, Auto REC defaults to a crash-safe mode that records one layer when you leave Sculpt Mode.
Does it break when I add a Multires level?
No. Layers stay live and editable through a native re-subdivide.
Is this an undo history?
No. An undo history takes you back to an earlier state. Everclay keeps every pass as a layer, so you can change the strength of any past pass, hide it, reorder it or remove it at any time.
Do I need ZBrush?
No. The round-trip works with any app that exports OBJ. GoB and GoZ just make it faster.
Does it work without Multires?
Yes. It also works on plain meshes, detected automatically.
Will it slow my scene down?
While you drag an intensity slider, Everclay previews on a live proxy. The Multires bake runs once, when you release. Very dense meshes take longer to finish on release.
Does it work with Dyntopo?
No. Layers need a stable topology.
