Non-destructive sculpt layers
Sculpt freely Decide later

Everclay brings sculpt layers to Blender’s Multires, kept per level so they survive subdivide. With Auto REC, every brush stroke becomes its own layer with no extra clicks. Folders keep big stacks organized, and your layer history turns into a render-ready shape-key timelapse.
Auto RECTurn on Auto and every brush stroke becomes its own layer.
Per-layer intensityDial an old pass down to zero or push it past 100%, any time.
Solo · muteIsolate any layer with one click, then bring the full sculpt back.
Groups & foldersCollapse big stacks into groups with their own solo and mute.
Bake TimelapseTurn your layer history into a base-to-final morph.

02Survives re-subdivideAdd native Multires levels; layers stay live.
03Coexists with modifiersArmature, Subsurf, Mirror. A pose is never baked into a layer.
04External round-tripA ZBrush (GoB/GoZ) edit with the same topology and vertex order comes back as one layer.
05Auto RECOne layer per stroke, or per N strokes.
06Intensity · eye · solo−200% to 200% per layer, plus eye and solo.
07Groups & foldersCollapsible, with solo and mute.
08Merge · Invert · FlattenPlus Duplicate and Reduce 2x / 4x for long stacks.
09Layer maskLimit a layer to the sculpt mask, without touching its data.
10Shape key from layerDrive or animate it natively. On Multires this applies the modifier (asks first).
11Viewport HUDLayers, intensity, history scrub, REC and Auto in the viewport.
12Bake TimelapseLayer history as a base-to-final morph.
Good to know
- Fixed topology. No Dyntopo. After a remesh, Dynamesh or retopology, initialize again.
- Keep it in one file. Layers are saved inside your .blend. If you move an object to another file with Append, Link or copy-paste, it keeps its shape, but its layers stop working. To take your work elsewhere, use Save As.
- Tested on Windows. Built and tested on Windows. It should run on macOS and Linux, but it hasn’t been tested there yet. On those systems, Auto REC defaults to a crash-safe mode that records one layer when you leave Sculpt Mode.
