  Really glad it clicked for you, Silvermannik — "fun" is the reaction I chase hardest, because selection usually isn't. Thank you for backing the Flow tools. And the family keeps growing: Flow Transform is next, aiming for that same effortless feel.

  Flow Selection Pro has the functionality I was looking for.

  Features such as being able to switch to X-Ray selection mode while selecting are also very useful. I feel that the add-on is designed to fundamentally improve Blender’s selection tools, to the point where it can eliminate the need for several other selection-assistance add-ons.

  However, when rapidly repeating vertex selections, the add-on sometimes seems to lag behind the input. This can cause the highlighted vertex to become out of sync with the vertex that is actually selected, which makes it difficult to use reliably in production. Because of this, I decided not to incorporate it into my production workflow for the time being.

  I hope the selection responsiveness and detection speed will be improved in future updates. If the selection accuracy and responsiveness are improved, this would easily be a 5-star add-on for me.
