Hair in Blender has always been a struggle for me, but with this it’s literally just add the scalp and that’s it. everything, it honestly feels unreal. The only thing is that depending on the character’s pose, placing the skinwrap can get a bit tricky, but nothing too serious. Hopefully they add more presets in the future. For me, a really solid product.

Overall a great starting point for hair but GlobalHair's controls are limited and not well labeled. Some easy settings should be in the N-panel, like curve resolution and number of hairs. Otherwise you have to go searching for them in GeoNodes, and they aren't well articulated there, either. If you know what you're doing and just want a library of hairs, it's still a good addon.

I'm glad everyone else got it to work. As a writer, I'm a noob to Blender & 3d in general, and I could not get it to work. Even after doing everything in the tutorial, it came out part hair and part lego blocks. I could be wrong, but it seems to insist on Cycles rendering, and I do everything in Eevee. So for me, a complete waste of project funds.

The plugin looks nice at first glance but impossible to match nicely with your own character. When you edit scalp or try to make it fit with your character nothing works, everything is messy.

This is not accurate. The addon can be matched properly to any characters when the correct workflow is followed.

The issues described here happen when the scalp is edited, moved, or scaled after applying the skinwrap. Once the scalp is positioned and the skinwrap is applied, the scalp should not be modified, doing so will break the guides and result in the behavior mentioned in this review.

The correct workflow is: position the scalp → apply the skinwrap → do not edit or move the scalp afterward. This is explained in the documentation and tutorial videos included with the addon.
