Globe Gen
Interactive 3D Earth Map
A global story.
A faster way to bring it to life.
Turn locations, routes, and data into cinematic Earth animations. Build your globe or a flat world map, connect cities, highlight countries, dive from space down to a city with real 3D buildings, and render the result, all from one Blender extension.
BLENDER 4.2+ • EEVEE & CYCLES
Get to the story sooner.
Your brief calls for an international journey, a worldwide network, or a comparison across countries. Before you can tell that story, you need a globe, markers, labels, routes, materials, and a camera setup.
Globe Gen brings those steps together. Spend less time assembling the scene and more time shaping the result.
NEW: EARTH ZOOM
From space to the streets in one shot.
Pick a point and Globe Gen dives the camera from orbit down to the city: through the clouds, with a light camera shake, onto sharp aerial pictures of the place. At the end, real 3D buildings grow out of the ground, textured with the photo of the city.

- Pictures download automatically when you choose a point: cloud-free Sentinel-2 satellite images worldwide (10 m), and sharp aerial photos (down to about 0.6 m) for the USA, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain and Japan. Everything is cached.
- 3D buildings from OpenStreetMap with real heights: White, Color, Glow or Photo Texture looks, with control over radius, height and growth timing.
- Fly-through clouds and camera shake with their own settings, a soft round mask for the pictures, and a marker that fades out on the way down.
- Use your own pictures for any level (region, city, street): drone shots, maps, drawings.
- Finish on your own photo or video. It cross-fades in at the end and stays clean: the color grade and looks never touch it. Zoom Out works too.

BUILD YOUR WORLD
01 LOCATIONS
Place cities. Skip the guesswork.
Search more than 3,100 cities, continents and oceans, or enter exact coordinates. Add pins, labels, and flags, then choose styles that fit your project. Camera-facing labels keep location names readable as the shot moves.
02 CONNECTIONS
Create routes without drawing every curve.
Connect locations with 3D arcs or surface lines. Control height, bend, thickness, and glow. Choose solid, dashed, or dotted lines and send an airplane, rocket, or your own object along the route.
Use Chain All for a journey: the lines play one after another, without overlaps. Use Hub From Active for a network built around one location, and Animate All to time the whole story in one click.

Any model can travel a route: pick an object from your scene and Globe Gen moves it along the arc, facing the direction of flight.

03 COUNTRIES & BORDERS
Put the right region in focus.
Highlight countries and US states using color, borders, extrusion, and animated reveals. Fill countries with their flags, or with your own flag, coat of arms or emblem.
Import your own borders from GeoJSON or SVG: historical empires, custom zones, sales territories or front lines. Draw them in geojson.io or use ready historical maps, and they get the same fills, borders and reveals.

04 DATA
Give your numbers a place in the world.
Create animated Data Bars from city populations or values assigned to your own points. Add labels, units, and staggered growth to compare locations directly on the globe.
05 CAMERA
Give the camera a route to follow.
Travel along a connection with Follow the Line, or along a whole journey with Whole Route: the camera follows every leg in turn with a steady north-up heading, no spinning at each city. Adjust distance, elevation, roll, orbit, zoom and smoothing, and every slider updates the shot live.
GLOBE OR FLAT MAP. FIVE STYLES.
One scene, many looks.
Switch between Realistic, Paper, Hologram, Dots and Flat map styles with your own land, ocean and line colors. Turn the globe into a flat world map with one click: pins, routes, countries, effects and cameras keep working.

SET THE MOOD
From clear information to cinematic atmosphere.
Match the image to your story: a clean corporate presentation, a documentary sequence, or a dramatic orbital shot.
- Day and night, city lights, clouds, and atmosphere
- Sunlight, stars, bloom, lens streaks, chromatic aberration, and vignette
- Six color-grading presets and eleven node-based color looks
- Volumetric clouds for Cycles
Use the downloadable Earth textures or connect your own higher-resolution maps for closer shots.
ADD ANOTHER LAYER
Effects with a role in your story.

Satellites
Build animated orbital systems with the included satellite model or your own object, plus optional orbit lines and trails.
Aurora
Add animated northern and southern lights.
Virus Spread
Visualize spread from a selected location.
Fires
Add animated fire locations over land around a selected point.
Data Bars
Display animated values at geographic locations.
RENDER
From the panel straight to a finished video.
Render MP4 (H.264) or a PNG sequence right from the Globe Gen panel. Pick a resolution (HD, Full HD, 2K, 4K, cinema 2.39, vertical Reels / Shorts, square), frame rate, frame range, render region and output folder, then press one button.
Made for stories that cross borders.
Travel and aviation. Logistics networks. Company presentations. Documentaries and history explainers. News graphics. Real estate and city intros. Geographic data visualization.
When the brief changes, return to the controls and adjust your locations, routes, styles, and timing.

Requirements & data information
- Blender 4.2 or newer; tested in Blender 4.2 and 5.2.
- Supports Eevee and Cycles. Volumetric clouds require Cycles for correct rendering.
- Standard Earth textures are downloaded separately through the extension. Internet access ("Allow Online Access" in Blender) is required for the texture download and for Earth Zoom pictures and buildings.
- Aerial photos are available for the USA, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain and Japan; elsewhere Earth Zoom uses 10 m satellite images. Building heights come from OpenStreetMap and vary by city.
- Optional third-party high-resolution Earth maps are not included.
