GoldFlow Insole Designer
What 3D printing materials are supported?
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is recommended for printing insoles due to its excellent elasticity and comfort. PLA and other rigid materials can also be used for printing test-fit samples.
The export process is very slow. Is this normal?
Yes, the system performs mesh repair during export (hole filling, normal repair, smoothing). This process may take 1-3 minutes depending on model complexity. Please be patient.
The generated insole is too large or too small. What can I do?
Use the shoe size adjustment feature in Step 3. After selecting the correct shoe size, the template will automatically scale to the corresponding dimensions. You can also manually enter the shoe size value.
How do I change the insole template?
The add-on currently uses default templates. To change templates, check the STL files in the templates directory, or contact the developer for additional template options.
The exported STL file cannot be printed. What should I do?
The add-on automatically performs mesh repair, but if the original model has severe issues, you may need to use professional mesh repair software (such as Meshmixer, Netfabb) for post-processing. Check the model for holes or non-manifold edges.
The imported foot scan model is positioned incorrectly. What should I do?
Use the position fine-tuning buttons in Step 3 for adjustment. If issues persist, check the unit settings of your foot scan file and ensure it is in millimeters (mm). Some scanners export files using different coordinate systems.
The add-on fails to start with a dependency error. What should I do?
Please check your network connection. The add-on needs to download dependency libraries (trimesh, scipy, numpy, etc.) on first launch. If the issue persists, try running Blender as administrator, or manually install the dependencies: pip install trimesh scipy numpy geomdl --user
