Harbor — Blender to Maya
What if I hit a bug?
- Email me at [email protected] with the Blender console output and a description of what you did. I read every message, most bugs get patched within a week.
Will Harbor slow down Blender?
- No. All expensive operations (port probes, ack polling) are non-blocking with 250ms caps. Blender stays fully responsive even while Maya is loading in the background.
Does it work with UDIM textures?
Auto Texture Linker recognizes UDIM tails (_u1001) and links one tile. Full UDIM tile-set support is on the roadmap.
Auto Texture Linker doesn't find my textures — what am I missing?
The material name must appear inside the texture file name. Harbor searches for files whose name contains the material's name plus a recognized map suffix — for example, material Helmet_mat finds Helmet_d.png, Helmet_n.png, Helmet_r.png. If your textures are named after something else (mesh name, project code, random string), rename either the material or the files so they match. (udim prefex )
What if my texture suffix conventions are different from the defaults?
Fully configurable. Preferences → Textures tab has a list per map type (Base Color / Normal / Roughness / Metallic). Add your own suffixes (_diff, _col, _alb, whatever), drag them into priority order, first entry wins.
Will my settings survive Blender updates and reinstalls?
Yes. Harbor mirrors every setting to a JSON file next to Blender's config — remove the add-on, upgrade Blender itself, reinstall Harbor, everything is right where you left it.
