HDRI Blur Background & Reflections

Have you ever loved the lighting from an HDRI, but wished the background looked softer and less distracting?

HDRI Blur Background & Reflections helps solve that problem by creating a blurred version of your HDRI and applying it directly to the World.

This means the blurred environment can affect not only the background, but also the reflections visible in the viewport and in your renders. Unlike a simple viewport blur, this helps reflective materials feel more coherent with the softened environment.

The workflow is non-destructive and simple: load your HDRI, adjust Blur, Strength, World Opacity, and Rotation, and keep working.

At higher blur values, the HDRI becomes more atmospheric and expressive, blending colors and tones into a softer visual field. With World Opacity, you can decide how visible or subtle that environment should feel.

The workflow is simple:   Load your HDRI, adjust Blur, Strength, World Opacity, and Rotation, and keep working.

Controls

HDRI

Choose the .hdr or .exr file you want to use as the environment.

Apply Original HDRI

Applies the selected HDRI directly to the World without blur.

Blur

Controls the amount of blur applied to the HDRI.

0.00 = no blur
1.00 = strong blur

Strength

Controls the intensity of the World lighting.

The slider is designed around the common 0 to 2 range, but manual values above 2 can be typed if a stronger HDRI is needed.

World Opacity

Controls the visibility of the HDRI background.

0.00 = background hidden
1.00 = background fully visible

The HDRI can still affect lighting and reflections even when the visible background is reduced.
