LAZY LIGHTER

The name is not ironic. Lazy Lighter exists so we can stop nudging a single area light around the viewport for half an hour, convinced that the next drag will be the one.

It gives you complete rigs instead of individual lights. Fifty of them, lifted from how things are actually lit in cinematography and photography, with the distances and ratios already worked out. Drop one in and the whole setup moves together: rotate it around the subject, raise or lower it, scale intensity and light size globally.

When one light needs to disagree with the rest, override it on its own, temperature, type, intensity, size, without disturbing anything else.

And when you have no idea what the shot wants, there's Creative Randomize. Lock what you're sure about, roll the dice on the rest, and let it propose a rig, a rotation, a palette. Half of what it gives back will be wrong. The other half is why the button is there.

WHAT THIS IS (AND WHAT IT IS NOT)

This isn't automatic lighting. It won't make creative decisions for you.

What it does:

Places lights in correct relationships to each other.

Positions them logically in space.

Camera-aware behavior.

Limits controls to useful ranges.

CAMERA-RELATIVE LIGHTING

Lights position themselves relative to your camera, not world space.

Move your camera? The three-point setup moves with it. Key light stays key. Fill stays fill. Rim stays rim.The composition stays intact.This is how cinematographers work. Lights serve the shot.

RIG LIBRARY

Lazy Lighter includes 50 base lighting rigs, each available in three technical variations (Area, Spot, Point), resulting in 150 usable setups.

Each rig serves a specific purpose. Not random presets (unless you want to play with the Creative Randomizer).

PARAMETRIC CONTROL WITH LIMITS

Global controls affect the whole rig:

Distance scale.

Height offset.

Horizontal rotation.

Global intensity.

Global light size.

These controls move and scale the entire system coherently, avoiding the common mistake of breaking light relationships.

Per-light overrides for fine-tuning:

Color temperature or RGB.

Intensity override.

Size override.

Light type override.

Adjust the system first. Tweak individual lights second.

PRESET SYSTEM

Any adjusted rig can be saved as a preset.

Presets store:

Spatial parameters.

Global controls.

Individual overrides.

Build your own library from actual work.

CREATIVE RANDOMIZER

The Light Randomizer is designed for exploration.

You can randomize:

Rig selection.

Selected parameters only.

Randomization stays within sensible bounds. You get variations, not garbage.

This makes it useful for ideation, look development, and fast iteration without generating broken setups.
