Why can't I save the file after opening it? I get a permission error.
You are likely opening the .blend file directly from inside the zip archive. Windows creates a temporary read-only folder when you do this. Please unzip the entire folder to your desktop or another local drive first, then open the .blend file from the unzipped folder. This will resolve the permission error.
