41 finished lighting setups, one click each

Every shot starts the same way: add a light, guess the energy, change the colour, move it, duplicate it twice, tune each one, build a backdrop, render, notice the contrast is wrong, start over. Light Director Pro replaces that hour with a click - and then lets you steer the result with a handful of sliders instead of a node graph.

41 presets, in seven categories

  • Studio - Hero, Soft Studio, Hard Studio, High Key, Low Key, Spotlight
  • Portrait - Interview, Rembrandt, Butterfly, Split Light, Ring Light, Rim / Silhouette
  • Product - Product Shot, Jewelry, Automotive, Clay Turntable
  • Natural - Golden Hour, Sunrise, Midday Sun, Overcast, Window Light, Moonlight, Blue Hour
  • Cinematic - Noir, Teal & Orange, Dark & Moody, Horror, Firelight, Candlelight, Fog Beam
  • Stylised - Anime, Toon Flat, Sci-Fi Tech, Hologram, Underwater, Concert
  • Neon & Night - Cyberpunk, Vaporwave, Neon Sign, Police Night, TV Room

Every one of them is a real rig with its own light types, sizes, angles and colour temperatures - not a colour swap on the same three lamps. Automotive uses 8 m strip lights down both flanks for unbroken body reflections. Jewelry pairs a broad soft top with two pinpoint speculars. Fog Beam is built for volumetric haze.

See all 41 on your own model

  • Render Preset Sheet renders your model through your camera under every preset and composes one labelled contact sheet.
  • Render all 41, a single category, or only your own saved presets - at whatever resolution percentage you are willing to wait for.
  • Preset thumbnails on a generic sphere tell you very little. This tells you exactly what you are choosing.

Save your own looks as presets

  • Save Current Rig reads the lights back out of the scene - including everything you changed with the Quick-Tune sliders or by hand.
  • Your presets sit in a My Presets panel next to the built-in ones and apply to any other scene, at any subject size.
  • Presets export and import as .json, so a studio can share one house look across a team.

It fits the model you actually have

  • Placement distance, light size and energy all scale from the real size of your selection, so a ring and a building are both lit correctly.
  • Every rig hangs on a Rig Control empty at the centre of your subject - move or rotate it and the whole setup follows.
  • Quick Tune sliders for key, fill and rim intensity plus a global warm/cool shift, updating live while you drag.
  • Switching presets replaces the old rig cleanly. Your own lights are never touched.

Everything around the light, too

  • 11 real-world fixtures - strip light, beauty dish, fresnel spot, practical bulb, LED panel, sun, sky dome, ring light, window light, edison bulb and hard spot. Drop one onto an existing light and type, size, energy and colour update in place.
  • Studio floor as a solid surface or a Cycles shadow catcher, sized to your selection.
  • Studio backdrops as real geometry: cyclorama with a proper concave cove, paper sweep or flat wall, measured against your subject so the wall never cuts through it.
  • Volumetric atmosphere - light fog, heavy fog, god rays, night haze and smoke, wired into the world shader so beams become visible.
  • HDRI manager with live strength and rotation, plus Sun from HDRI, which finds the brightest spot in the image and places a sun to match it.

Eight animated effects, render-farm safe

  • Flicker, fire, lightning, TV glow, strobe, disco, candle and police - as non-destructive f-curve modifiers.
  • Apply one effect to a whole rig at once, optionally phase-shifted so the lights do not blink in lockstep.
  • Bake to Keyframes turns the noise into plain linear keys for render farms, FBX export and external pipelines.

Built to stay working

271 automated checks run against Blender 4.5 LTS and 5.2 LTS on every build: every preset, every fixture, every atmosphere, every animation effect, backdrop and floor placement, the rig control empty, baking, and the behaviour when nothing is selected. Cycles and EEVEE, Blender 4.2 LTS and newer.
