A multi-planet system with a famous hot super-Earth.
What's included
- 55 Cancri A and its five planets (e, b, c, f, d), with data from the NASA Exoplanet Archive pages and cited papers.
- 55 Cnc e with a lava-crust material (illustrative) and its 0.7365-day period (Bourrier 2018).
- Orbits by Kepler's third law, period ratios and near-resonances computed (including the near 3:1 between b and c).
- Habitable zone, equilibrium temperature and insolation computed.
- 9 cameras: general, mid planets, inner, top and one per planet. Studio or physical lighting, adaptive scale, labels.
- A ready-to-render .blend (Cycles) with the script embedded, plus the script itself so you can change any setting and rebuild.
- README with what is real and what is not, CREDITS with all references.
What is illustrative (we say it up front)
- The look of every planet is illustrative; only orbits, sizes and masses come from data.
- 55 Cnc e is the only transiting planet; the radii of b, c, d and f are estimated from minimum mass and labelled as such.
- JWST atmosphere results for 55 Cnc e (Hu 2024) are cited in the README, not simulated. The red-dwarf companion 55 Cancri B is not included.
Who it is for: science communicators, teachers, YouTube creators, and anyone who wants a data-driven look at a famous multi-planet system.
