    This add-on works just as shown in the promo video and delivers fantastic results, but there are a few pitfalls to be aware of before you can fully master an animation using the additional features of the Pro version (ball animation)!

    First of all, Mido must be installed via Python (Console) if it hasn't been installed already.

    A simple animation (just keys and pedals) without ball animation can be created in seconds—lightning fast. For this, the basic version PianoMotion 1.50 is perfectly sufficient. In the Pro version, however, the ball animation process feels like an eternity until the animation is fully processed and available.

    The ball animation can only be activated using the "Create Animation" button—trying to do it via the menu does not work. For example, to change the ball size, you must create a new animation each time, and it takes between 10 and 20 minutes for the animation to be ready, depending on the performance of your computer. I tested the add-on on the following machines: (RTX 4090, Ryzen 9 7950X3D = approx. 10 minutes) (GTX 1070, Ryzen 7 = approx. 20 minutes).

    That means a lot of patience is required to achieve a usable result. However, the possibilities for animating piano playing are fantastic—as long as you have the patience to approach your desired outcome through trial and error. The Pro version still has room for improvement, especially when it comes to the speed of animations using the special Pro features. User-friendliness could also be improved. For a simple piano animation, as mentioned, the basic PianoMotion 1.50 version of the add-on is sufficient. Despite a few hurdles in the application, I give it 5 stars, because in the end, the result is what matters most to me.

      Great buyer, provided great advice! For longer MIDI animations, turning on the ball animation will make the animation generation slow. Here's a tip: you can import only a short animation by selecting the start and end time, which will greatly accelerate the animation generation time and facilitate more efficient parameter adjustment
