Which node editors does it work in?
The Shader Editor, Geometry Nodes and the Compositor.
Can I trace a single input or output?
Yes. Double-click right on the socket (or hover it with a Hover trigger). A ring marks it, and only the chain flowing through that socket lights up
Can I select the traced chain?
Yes. Press Ctrl + L in the Node Editor and every node of the chain is selected, ready to move, frame or duplicate. It's a regular undo step.
