What licenses are included?
The add-on code is GPL-3.0-or-later. Bundled assets retain the licenses, exceptions and credits documented in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and their source notices.
Are Windows and macOS verified?
They are targets of the same Python package. Developer tests were performed on Linux with Blender 4.5.3 LTS and 5.0.1. Native Windows/macOS validation is pending.
Is the Arduino Uno asset fully parametric?
It is a reconstructed assembly based on official CAD placement, with fixed mechanics and external header pads. Its internal components are not individually editable as a separate parametric PCB-Forge board.
Can I export the result?
Yes. Create a mesh copy, export an organized GLB/OBJ assembly or save a collection asset for the Asset Browser. Retain the original .blend for parametric editing.
Can I import my own models?
Yes, through Import selected mesh. Imported models do not automatically receive electrical pads or footprints.
Does it work offline?
The included library and generation tools work locally without an external API or account. Downloading the product and accessing online services require an internet connection.
Why are some connections dashed or missing?
They are unresolved or need recalculation after editing. Route connections searches for an acceptable geometric path within a work budget. Crowded layouts can remain unresolved.
Does deleting one component delete every copy?
No. Delete this instance removes the selected part and its associated connections. Remove group deletes the entire quantity row.
Can I scale just one component?
Yes. Select its instance and press S. Enter a multiplier, constrain the change to a local axis or use Scale XYZ for absolute factors. Pads, terminals and silkscreen follow the transformation.
Can I edit the board outline?
Yes. Use predefined shapes, polygon drawing, freehand sketching or native vertex editing with boundary-edge extrusion. The outline must remain a valid closed planar boundary.
Do components adapt when I resize the board?
Free components can reflow within the available outline. Manually anchored components retain their positioning constraints. Optional area-based density can adjust quantities.
Can I choose component quantities?
Yes. Quantity controls determine the requested mix. Available area, clearance, anchors and fit settings determine how many components can be placed. Placement shortages are reported.
What does “200 component variants” mean?
The library contains 200 component and footprint variants across 16 categories, including different sizes and package styles. Some models are generic visual approximations.
Is PCB-Forge an electronic CAD or manufacturing tool?
No. It creates visual circuit-board geometry for 3D artwork. It does not validate schematics, electrical correctness or manufacturing rules, and it does not export Gerber files.
