Introducing Phosphor, CRT Factor for Blender
Phosphor is a Blender extension that adds CRT and Retro screen display effects to your scenes and renders, including screen bulge, phosphor dot structure, scanlines, glow diffusion, film grain, signal distortions behavior, retro glare and more. All visible directly in the viewport before you even render your projects. Supports both Eevee and Cycles render engines.Features
Live Viewport Compositing
See the final CRT effect directly in the viewport while you work. What you see is exactly what your render will output, powered by Blender 5.0’s viewport compositor.

True CRT Signal Simulation
Phosphor is not a filter. It processes your render through a full CRT-style signal chain including scanlines, glow diffusion, color response, and display behavior.

Screen Curvature and Bulge
Simulates the physical shape of CRT glass with adjustable barrel distortion, recreating the rounded screen look of real displays.

Phosphor Glow and Light Diffusion
Recreates how CRT phosphors emit and bleed light, producing soft bloom, streaks, and display-driven glow instead of artificial blur.

Scanline System
Procedural scanlines driven by wave patterns, not overlays. Fully controllable density, shape, distortion, and detail for realistic or stylized results.

Full creative control on Scale, Bands Orientation, Profile and more to give you more accurate artistic results!

Signal Distortion and Display Behavior
Introduce instability, noise, and irregularities that mimic real analog signal behavior, from clean output to degraded and broken screens.
Color and Display Response
Full control over saturation, temperature, tonemapping, and phosphor tint to match different CRT eras and display types.
19 Built-in Presets
Instantly switch between curated CRT looks including arcade displays, VHS degradation, terminal monitors, and high-energy stylized outputs.
Works with Eevee and Cycles
Fully compatible with both render engines. Phosphor processes the compositor output, not the render engine itself.
Non-Destructive Workflow
Phosphor inserts itself into your compositor and removes itself cleanly. Your original node setup is always preserved.
One Toggle Activation
Enable or disable the entire system instantly with Live Preview. No setup, no node wiring required.
Built for Blender 5.0+ and newer versions!
Uses the viewport compositor for true real-time feedback with final render accuracy.
Works well with other built-in nodes!
