What types of materials can Procedural Bake Bridge bake?
Procedural Bake Bridge converts supported Principled BSDF materials into PBR texture maps, including Base Color, Roughness, Metallic and Normal, with additional channels where supported. Use Analyze before baking to check your material. Mixed shaders, volumes, glass and view-dependent effects may not translate into a fixed PBR texture set.
Can I use the exported textures in Unity and Unreal Engine?
Yes. The addon includes presets for Unreal ORM, Unity URP Lit, Unity URP Complex Lit, Unity HDRP Lit, glTF Metallic-Roughness and Generic PBR. Each preset updates the map selection and channel packing, including Unity Smoothness. Import the textures and assign them to your target material; the addon does not create engine material assets automatically.
Does my object need UVs before baking?
Object UV Bake requires usable UVs for texture-only exports. Alternatively, enable temporary Smart UV generation together with Include Baked Mesh, then use the exported mesh to retain that generated layout. Material Texture mode samples the material on a plane and does not require you to unwrap an object.
Are the exported textures automatically seamless?
No. Tileability depends on the source material, its nodes and its texture coordinates. Baking captures the material but does not automatically make its edges repeat seamlessly. Use the repeat preview to inspect visible seams. Textures baked in Object UV mode are designed to follow the matching mesh’s UV layout.
What Blender version is required, and how do I install the addon?
Procedural Bake Bridge requires Blender 4.5.0 or later. In Blender, open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, choose Install from Disk and select procedural_bake_bridge-1.0.0.zip. Enable the addon, then open the PBB tab in the 3D Viewport sidebar by pressing N. Baking runs locally using CPU processing. The PDF user guide is included in the customer package.
