Procedural Scratch Mask Node
Documentation – Procedural Scratch Mask
This node group generates a procedural grayscale scratch mask for use in Blender shader workflows.
Inputs
Position (Vector) – Required
Any position-based vector input.
Examples include Object coordinates, Generated coordinates, or UV coordinates.
The node will not generate output without this input.
Parameters
Layer Iterations
Controls the density and layering of the scratch pattern.
Global Scale
Adjusts the overall scale of the scratch distribution.
Large Scratch Amount
Controls the influence of larger-scale scratches.
Fine Scratch Amount
Controls the influence of finer surface scratches.
Direction Bias
Biases the scratch orientation along a preferred direction.
Rotate
Rotates the scratch pattern.
Output
Mask (Grayscale)
A 0–1 grayscale mask suitable for roughness, color mixing, detail blending, or baking.
Intended Use
This node is designed as a modular utility component, not as a finished material.
It is intended to be combined with existing shader graphs and workflows.
