I'd happily say Pure-sky is the best looking dynamic/procedural sky addon on the blender market place, but it's always been insanely slowly, very unstable, tedious to use and this update for me has been very divisive.
On one hand I'm so happy to see it in a place where I don't have to amend a collection to my project and all the presets.
On the other hand it makes blender crash a lot, it's dragged sample count and colour management into it's tool bar and it feels far more restrictive.

So, if you want some of the best skies this community can offer and don't mind a unstable and tedious controls, this is 100% the addon for you. It's strengths it wears proudly but it's got notable downfalls.

Fantastic add-on so far! Used it in almost any scene I create now. I've always despised HDRI's because they lacked control and stylization look.

    Though, I do have one issue;

When I add PureSky to my scene, I can no longer scrub through my animation timeline without Blender shooting itself and crashing.

My temporary fix is to just make another scene, append previous scene objects, animate, then add PureSky for the final render...but that's a bit too work-aroundy...

Was curious to if there was an actual fix to this?

Hi. You can reference any statement so that the blender does not hang when you start pure sky. What do I need to turn off? The computer is powerful. Starting to regret buying. I want to know how to include it correctly. English is not native to me, through a translator.

Hello, I just bought this time 4.5 space edition, how do you use, every time I active in my project everything just goes to s*ht . I cant even see my structure no more, how do you apply this correctly like in the demo video which is the reason I purchased this. Your instructions dont make sense in the documentation about importing into scene. Can you please help? I have searched youtube for a tutorial to no avail.

Fantastic ... 4.5.7 Lite ... initial setup is fantastic and educational ... just stop and learn. Then go to shading section and learn some more ... stunning node setup ... albedo , time and camera options are overkill ... Lite version could be $5 merely for the education ... thank you ... my Mosquito fighter bomber has never looked better !

Great product, BUT… it does not work on MacOS.
I was not able to get it running on my iMac Pro with 16GB Vega64 graphics card. On Windows it seems to work fine.
Also I hope there will be a full written documentation soon.

      Hello,
Yes I apologize, for the moment there is no updated documentation. I produce tutorial videos to explain the basics to use the sky with the standard configuration. Working on the documentation at the same time, slows down the development process and bug fixes and we are really trying to make the sky 100% compatible for Cycle.
Documentation will be produced as soon as these major issues are resolved.

They sky itself looks nice in Eevee, but I haven't been able to get the sky to reflect or the sun to get obscured by the clouds. Also, the near clip plane of FOUR HUNDRED METERS is absolutely insane, and the quality goes down when I try to get closer. Plus, to get the clouds rendered in Cycles seems very convoluted (I haven't managed yet). It's nice tech demo, but I haven't managed to wrangle any practical use out of it yet.

      Hello,
      Thank you for your opinion.
We are working on a workaround for the camera problem that is due to the limit that the current versions of Blender set. When the volumes are visible on a large distance for example (40KM), if the value of "Clip Start" of the camera is not increased, the rendering is completely blurred and when we increase this value the clouds become clear, but the objects near the camera are not visible.
We have published a correction. This correction allows you to fix the distance of visibility of the camera by choosing between the default camera or three other possibilities, it does not solve the problem, but it allows you to quickly choose the most suitable configuration.

Here is another configuration you can try. In the volume settings replace the default end value of (40.000) "40KM" by (10.000) "10KM", then on the addon panel select (Blender Default).
This configuration allows you to have a standard scale scene and to see the clouds. You can also set the cloud height to "0.0".

Many features have been removed overtime, and visually it looks much rougher than it used to back in version 5

Giving two stars just to be kind. Probably a nice idea, but.. really slow, slow, slow... all I can say. It is so laggy and tricky, that it didn't allow me any testing. Not ready to be used in daily work and is not worth money at this stage of development. Once kindly asked for a refund I was rejected. Consider carefully.

The addon works correctly, even with an RTX 2060, but if you try to use it only with your CPU, it's normal for it to be slow. A volumetric environment spanning several kilometers cannot be displayed with just one CPU.

The developers created a slow, buggy product. I bought it for a project to use the "outer space" part of the product. It didn't work properly and I reported the major bug. They said it would be fixed in an update. Now, a year later, they have removed the whole outer space module instead of fixing it. I feel like I should get my money back.

We are sorry, we know that some people will be disappointed but to illustrate, when a patient is suffering from a condition that may be fatal, it is better to remove the diseased area to save his life and this is exactly what we have done, just as the Blender Foundation has abandoned the branch (Blender game) to save the development of the main branch.
