I have only purchased the free version so far, and the only thing that prevents me from purchasing the full version is that the author prohibits the transfer of the source file with the materials. However, 95% of clients require the transfer of the source .blend file, which means I will not be able to use these materials in my professional work, since the author of the materials prohibits the transfer of the source file.

I apologize if the documentation is misleading. you are absolutely allowed to redistribute files that use the materials on things like models and animations. essentially I just don't want people just taking the addon and reselling it. Hope this helps!

Hi, just bought this add-on but I can't install it. I get missing manifest error when trying to add Asset Browser Zip version and extracting the other version does not populate asset browser. The add-on is compatible with 4.2 but could it be that 4.2.2 version needs additional tweaks to make it work? Any help would be appreciated. I now managed to install one of the plugin by disregarding tutorial video tip about extracting ZIP -files and using the install from disk option for Realtime_Materials_2.1.6.zip, so at least I can nowuse the add-on. Materials seem to look nice and run quite fast on viewport

There's lots of great ideas in there, but not all materials are ready to use with drag-and-drop. The default settings can be way too extreme, most controls are lazily labelled so you don't understand what they do (like just "shape" twice). Important controls are often missing, like normal intensity or noise position (to move position rust or damage on your object without UVs). You can add extra controls manually, but the node network is pretty messy (no reroutes) and undocumented (no frames, no node renames). There is no displacement, only normals, though it's not that hard to add. It's even supported in Eevee Next... It took me days to render high-res previews, add controls, relabel settings.

Hey man I appreciate you giving constructive feedback! I have written all these notes down in my development notes for future updates.

I do want to note about the displacement. I would absolutely love to add displacement to the materials, but right that it is not possible in eevee, and Eevee Next is not officially available yet. once it is, all relevant materials will be switched to have displacement. My goal is that all the materials look and behave the same in eevee and cycles so people with slower computers can enjoy the materials as well.

Other than that I appreciate the feedback and if you have any more notes pleas message me here on blender market!

Lovely vibrant procedural materials. Really handy for motion graphics and stylized art.

I think the materials can greatly be improved by adding edge wear and dirt controls, because at the moment none of the materials use the underlying geometry. On some materials it's not that important, but I feel on certain materials such as the surfaces/metal/paint/woods it could improve the materials a lot.

Also the default noise pattern is very recognizable on most of the materials. I hope to see some improvements in this regard. It can be an easy fix by subtly warping the noises scale/detail/roughness texture slots with other noises or by combining multiple noises together.

Thank you so much I really appreciate the positive feedback. The most important thing for this pack is that it works the same in both eevee and cycles, which is why having Edge wear isn’t on any of the materials at the moment because it doesn’t work in eevee. You’re definitely right about the noise pattern. I’ll dig in and add some variation. If you need anything, feel free to send me a message.

For the price of this add-on and the promotion that has gone into it I'd expect more updates. It has been 3 months and no new materials added. A lot of the materials are one-note wonders and repeats of the same thing over and over. Its useful, though, if you're opposed to making your own materials.

Hey man! So the reason a few of the materials may look like repeaters is that I wanted the user to have options with slight changes so that they can apply multiple materials but they don’t look like the exact same thing. So some of the similar materials have slightly different surface imperfections, or scratches or things like that but are in the same family of materials. On your note about the update. We are currently running through every single material to optimize their speed which is taking a bit longer to do. But I have quite a few really cool materials coming out very soon
