Editable microdetails for product and hard-surface design in Blender
Turn a simple enclosure into a considered product: add fitted buttons, ports, ventilation details, panel grooves and perforated surface zones. Revisit dimensions and finishes through the tool that created each detail.
Shape the details that define a product
- Smart Shell: rounded hollow bodies, separate lids and supported interior inserts.
- Surface Buttons and Layouts: outline shapes, flat/domed/concave tops, edge rounding and layouts on supported surfaces.
- Smart Port and Smart Vent: planar cavities and slot arrangements with editable dimensions.
- Smart Seam: draw a groove point by point on a planar face, or use square, rectangle, circle and ellipse contours. Cylinder Ring places a circular groove on a supported cylinder.
- Surface Grille: circular perforation zones on supported convex shell patches, with hole diameter, spacing, margins and local wall checks.
- Refit and Surface Shading: explicitly update supported surface details after changing their target, and optionally restore surface shading.
- Presets and cutter management: reuse supported parametric recipes and manage owned Boolean relationships.
A workflow you can revisit
Select a target, choose the appropriate face or surface, place a detail, and adjust its dimensions. Use each tool's own editor to keep the relationship intact. Preview-based tools let you inspect changes before confirming them. Refit is an explicit operation, not continuous automatic deformation tracking.
Compatibility
Blender 5.0 is the declared minimum. The 1.3.8 RC2 package passed fresh installation, activation after restart, upgrade from 1.3.7 beta2 and modeling regression checks on Windows with Blender 5.0.1 and 5.2.1 LTS. macOS and Linux addon use are not verified.
Know the supported surface
Draw Seam, Port and Vent require planar references. Predefined flat contours remain planar. Cylinder Ring requires a straight circular cylinder. Surface Grille supports up to 256 circular holes on a connected closed convex patch, within 55 degrees of its anchor axis; it does not wrap an entire sphere.
Shell resizing can be blocked after dependent details have been added. Preserve a base copy before detailing. Unsupported manual mesh edits, native duplication or object scaling can prevent parametric editing.
This is a modeling tool for visual design. It does not certify CAD accuracy, fabrication tolerances, acoustic performance or physical product function.
About the gallery
Gallery images are native Blender renders of concept examples. The addon created supported shells, cuts and details. Materials, lighting, cameras, screens, electronics-like components, lettering and other presentation geometry also use native Blender tools. The images do not imply that one button generates a complete finished device.
Installation and first use
Install the supplied addon ZIP through Preferences > Get Extensions > Install from Disk, enable it and restart Blender. Press N in a 3D Viewport and open Smart Cut. Select a mesh and choose Set Active as Target.
For a first groove: enter Edit Mode, select one planar face, open Smart Seam and choose Draw Seam (Points). Click points and press Enter. Select the seam cutter to reopen Edit Seam Path (Points). Esc cancels a drawing session. Complete workflows, limits and troubleshooting instructions are provided in the Documentation section.
Included in the purchase
The Smart Cut & Bevel addon installer, its English user guide and FAQ. The concept renders demonstrate supported workflows alongside native presentation work; complete concept scenes are not included in the purchase.
Support and updates
Includes 12 months of support and updates from purchase. Support through the Superhive inbox covers installation and reproducible issues in documented workflows. Responses within three business days, excluding weekends and holidays. We make a good-faith effort to maintain compatibility with the current Blender LTS. Versions received during the support period remain yours permanently. No automatic renewal.
Launch pricing
US$24 for the first 14 days after release. Regular price: US$29.
