Procedural Solar Mounting System | Geo Nodes

Henrik Uhrmann in Procedural Generators

Solar systems built and adjusted in seconds

From a single rooftop to a full solar farm – built in seconds, fully procedural.

Seconds
From one plane to a wired solar plant. Switch on a modifier, done.
Real substructure
Posts, rafters, braces, clips and bolts, sized like a real ground mount.
Render ready
Datasheet panels, clean UVs, procedural or one trim sheet. EEVEE and Cycles.
01OVERVIEW

Create beautiful solar installations with just a few sliders. This Geometry Nodes generator builds everything you need: panels, mounting structures, sun-following pole trackers, a combiner box and all the cabling. Clean UVs, a lightweight trim texture and smart instancing keep even large solar parks fast and ready to render.

Panels
5 presets, every size and cell layout a slider
Systems
roof, ground mount, solar field, pole tracker
Wiring
combiner box, MC4 jumpers, string cables, ties
Control
one plane: move, scale, tilt, everything follows
Materials
procedural per part or one 4K trim sheet
Performance
instanced, large fields stay smooth
02EVERYTHING INCLUDED
All panel presets and systems, numbered

Five panel presets and every kind of system the modifiers build, all in the demo scene. The presets are just starting points: every panel value is a slider.

1Mono 108 Half-Cut – 1722 x 1134 mm, 108 half-cut mono cells: the classic rooftop module.
2Mono 144 Half-Cut – 2279 x 1134 mm, 144 half-cut cells for ground mounts and solar farms.
3Full Black 108 – The rooftop size in an all-black look.
4Large 132 (210 mm) – 2384 x 1303 mm, 132 large 210 mm half-cut cells: today's utility format.
5Poly 60 – 1650 x 992 mm, 60 blue polycrystalline full cells: the older classic.
6Roof – Solar Array alone on a roof plane: panels, rails and roof hooks, no substructure. (The house is only a stand-in for the picture.)
7Ground mount – Solar Array + Solar Mount on one plane: posts, rafters, braces and bolts, sized automatically.
8Combiner Box – On its own post at the end of the table; it counts the strings of the array.
9Solar Cables – MC4 jumpers under the panels, string cables along rails and posts into the box.
10Solar field – One plane with three faces = three tables, one combiner box and all the cables.
11Pole tracker, Standard – The table turns around the pillar: set an angle or follow a sun light.
12Pole tracker, Tower – The same tracker on a round, conical tower.
03BUILT LIKE THE REAL THING
A ground mounted solar table with its combiner box
Datasheet-sized modules with half-cut cells, frames, junction boxes and mounting holes
Strut channel rails through the holes, cold-formed C posts, rafters and braces lapped and bolted
Member sizes chosen automatically from the table depth, posts rammed into a terrain if you give one
Combiner box on its own post, MC4 jumpers under the frames, string cables tied along rails and posts
Plane, color UVs, render

Everything grows from one plane: base, UVs, render.

Procedural and trim sheet

Material Mode: procedural per part or one trim sheet.

04WORKFLOW
STEP 1
Plane
Solar Array on a plane (every face is one table), pick your Solar Panel with the eyedropper.
STEP 2
Mount
Solar Mount below it: Ground Mount (posts to the ground, a terrain or a box bottom) or Pole Tracker.
STEP 3
Combiner Box
Place it at the field end, door towards the field; pick the Array, it counts the strings.
STEP 4
Solar Cables
Pick the Array and the Box: strings, MC4 jumpers and string cables into every gland.

07ABOUT THE CREATOR
Hi, I'm Henrik!

By day, I work as a 3D artist for an industrial manufacturer, turning real machinery into product visuals and assembly animations. That everyday experience goes into every asset I make: realistic proportions, clean topology, and tools that make work faster instead of more complicated. I hope this generator saves you as much time as it saves me.

Thanks for checking it out! If you have questions or ideas for new features, just send me a message, updates are always included. And if the generator helps your project, I'd be really happy about a quick rating ;)

Made by Henrik Uhrmann. Concept, idea and the first hand-built prototype by Henrik Uhrmann. Parts of the node setup were built with the help of an AI coding assistant, then reviewed, tested and refined by hand in Blender.
