Which Blender versions are supported?
Thread Helix 1.0.2 targets Blender 5.2.2 LTS and the compatible 5.2.x series. Other versions are not currently advertised as supported.
Can I make threads for 3D printing?
Yes. Thread Helix provides custom thread geometry and an adjustable Fit Clearance setting. Actual fit depends on your printer, material, and print settings.
Can I edit a thread after creating it?
Yes. Generated objects retain their settings and can be adjusted using viewport handles or the Edit Selected panel.
Can I create matching nuts and bolts?
You can create corresponding external and internal threaded geometry, including matched cylindrical threaded pairs. Thread Helix is not a standards-compliant hardware or bolt-head generator.
Can it generate springs and rope?
Yes. Helix mode supports springs, spirals, tapered helixes, and multiple intertwined strands.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Thread Helix operates locally inside Blender.
Should I unzip the download before installing?
No. Install the ZIP directly through Blender's Install from Disk option.
Is Thread Helix suitable for engineering-certified components?
No. It is a custom geometry tool and does not certify mechanical or thread-standard compliance.
